Letter (Poem)

I
trust
this letter
finds you well
in fact I hope you
enjoy
the kind
arrow I
sent as
farewell
bound
tightly
lashed
upon a
tether
tied on
keenly
strung
together
serving
as a grim reminder
to never feed these costly
habits of catching fletchings in
your teeth

Sideways (Shape Poem)

       I can’t hide
what I feel inside
even if it weren’t true
please know I still love you
I don’t know why   I failed to see
it took you walking     away from me

hearts aren’t meant     to lie          sideways

              that only happens      when they          b  r  e  a  k

aslant      in the     worst        sort of     way

I didn’t know what else        I could do
not when I’m still in        love with you
I finally lost the game       we once played
when I witlessly chased you away
still you’re a joy in my mind
‘til my heart flatlines
